1. Who We Are
Canmers is an invoicing platform for Canadian small businesses, operated by Atmanworks. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information you provide when using our website and application at canmers.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: name and email address when you sign up via Clerk authentication.
- Business data you enter: invoices, customer records, product lists, and invoice design preferences you create within the app.
- Usage data: basic technical information such as browser type, IP address, and pages visited, collected to keep the Service functional and secure.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
- To respond to support requests or questions you send us.
- To send essential service-related communications (e.g., account alerts).
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with the following sub-processors to deliver the Service:
- Clerk — handles user authentication. Your email and profile data are stored with Clerk under their own Privacy Policy.
- Neon — stores your business data (invoices, customers, products) in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon's infrastructure.
- Vercel — hosts the application. Vercel may log request metadata for performance and security monitoring.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at info@canmers.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk. We are not liable for any unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Canadian residents may have rights under PIPEDA or applicable provincial privacy legislation. To exercise any such rights, contact us at the email below.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain session state. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party providers (Clerk, Vercel) may set their own cookies as part of their services.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
