Features

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

Canmers is invoicing for the people who actually sell the things — not an accounting platform with a friendly coat of paint. Here is every part of it, by category.

Orders & invoices

Writing the invoice is thirty seconds. Knowing who still owes you is the part that matters.

Auto-numbered invoices

Every business gets its own counter, so your numbering is yours alone. Set the starting number to continue straight on from your paper book — no two parallel systems.

Line items from your catalog

Pick a product and the unit and price fill themselves in. Change the quantity and you're done. One-off items can be typed in freehand without saving them to the catalog.

Nine order statuses

Created, Pending, Processing, Paid, Shipped, Completed, Returned, Refunded, and Cancelled. Change any order to any status — the order follows your business, not a workflow diagram.

Change status without opening the order

The status dropdown sits right in the order list, colour-coded. Run down the list on a Sunday evening and mark off what got paid.

Reasons recorded on cancel and return

Moving an order to Cancelled or Returned asks why, and stores your answer with the order. Six months later you'll still know.

Discount, tax and shipping — each with a note

Add a discount, HST, and shipping to any order, and write a short note beside each one, like “market-day discount” or “delivery to Paris ON”. Tax can be calculated before or after the discount.

Filters that stack

Combine status tabs (pick several at once), month, an exact date range, and a search across customer name and order number. Every filter lives in the web address, so “all my unpaid orders” can be a browser bookmark.

Totals that follow your filter

Orders found, total billed, and still owed sit above the table and recalculate for whatever you've filtered to — not just the rows on screen.

Full history on every order

Every save is recorded and compared: status changes, which fields changed and what they changed from and to, and how many line items were added, removed, or edited. Nothing is quietly overwritten.

Nine units of measure

kg, dozen, each, lb, bunch, box, litre, and tray — the units small businesses actually sell in.

How to write an order, step by step

Products

Save what you sell once. Every invoice afterwards is faster.

Your catalog

Name, description, sold-by unit, price per unit, and a default quantity for the amount people usually order.

Prices that update forward, not backward

Change a price and every future invoice picks it up. Invoices already written keep the price they were written at, so your records stay true to what you actually charged.

Search and pagination

Search by name or description. Handy once your list grows past a screen.

Customers

A customer list that tells you what each person is actually worth to you.

Address autocomplete

Start typing and pick the address from the list. Three keystrokes instead of a full line of typing, and no spelling mistakes on the delivery label.

Lifetime order history

Open a customer and see every order they have ever placed — number, date, status, and total — ending in a bold grand total.

Delivery map

Plus

A map of the delivery address, right on the customer page. Genuinely useful when you're planning a delivery run.

Automatic customer numbers

Each customer gets the next number in your own sequence, so you can reference them the way you always have.

Dashboard & insights

Four numbers in plain language, and three charts that show you your season.

Four numbers that matter

Owed this year · Paid this month · Orders this month · Need attention. Every one is a link — click the number and you land on exactly the orders behind it.

Orders, customers and revenue per day

Three bar charts for any month you choose, one bar per day. Hover for that day's figure. Revenue is counted on the day an order is marked Paid, so it reflects money actually collected.

Month-end projection

On a month in progress, Canmers shows what you're on track for by month end, based on the days so far.

Order pipeline

How this month's orders are spread across every status — where things are moving, and where they're stuck.

Month by month

Step back through previous months with one click. All three charts and the pipeline follow.

How to read the dashboard

Print, PDF & email

Get the invoice to the customer the way that customer prefers.

Print

A clean, print-ready invoice straight from your browser. No layout surprises.

Download as PDF

A US-Letter PDF, named with the order number and customer, ready to attach or file.

Email from your own address

One button opens your normal email app with the subject, message, and an itemised order summary already filled in. It arrives from your address, so replies come back to you — not to a noreply robot.

Status update emails

A second button tells a customer their order has shipped or been paid, using a separate template.

Editable email templates

Plus

Rewrite the subject and message, and drop in placeholders for the customer name, order number, date, total, status, delivery method, your business name, and a full itemised summary.

How to print, download, or email an invoice

Branding & your store

Set this up once and every invoice you ever write looks right.

Two receipt styles

Modern — clean and minimal. Classic — boxed and gridded, with an office-use block and footer lines, for anyone who wants the layout their paper book already had. A live preview sits beside the controls.

Your logo

Plus

Upload it once; it appears on every invoice and in your sidebar.

Accent colour

Forest green, terracotta, crimson, or golden harvest. Free is fixed to forest green; Plus unlocks the full picker.

Your business details

Business name, tagline, phone, email, website, HST number, and address — all printed in the invoice header.

Six currencies

Canadian dollar, US dollar, euro, British pound, Australian dollar, and New Zealand dollar.

Tax and shipping defaults

Turn HST on, set the rate, and choose whether it applies before or after the discount. Set shipping as a flat amount or a percentage. These become the defaults on every new order, and you can still override any single order.

Control your invoice numbering

Set the next invoice number at any time — the feature that lets you move over from paper without starting your records again.

How to set up your store and invoice look

Team & permissions

Bring in your partner, your staff, or your bookkeeper — without handing over the keys.

Invite by email

Send an invitation, see who hasn't accepted yet, and change or remove access at any time.

Two roles, deliberately

Members write and edit orders, products, and customers. Admins can also delete records, manage the team, and handle billing. Two roles is enough for a small business; more would just be another thing to configure.

Deletion is admin-only

Nobody can quietly remove an order, a customer, or a product unless you made them an admin.

Your data stays yours

No hostage-taking. If Canmers stops being useful to you, you leave with everything.

Export everything

One button downloads every order and every line item as a file you keep. Do it at the end of each season and file it with your books.

Your business is sealed off

Each business's records are separated at the database level. No other business can see your orders, your prices, or your customers.

Email goes out under your name

Because invoices are sent through your own email account, your customers deal with you — not with a platform standing in between.

Common questions

The things people ask before they sign up.

How much does Canmers cost?

The Free plan is free forever — it is a real plan, not a trial, and there is no time limit on it. Plus is $6.99 USD a month, or $59.88 a year (which works out to $4.99 a month) if you pay yearly. There are no setup fees, no per-invoice charges, and no per-feature add-ons.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every Plus subscription starts with a 30-day free trial, and you can cancel at any point during it from My Store → Billing. If you decide Plus is not for you, your account drops back to the Free plan rather than closing — your invoices, products and customers stay where they are.

Can I get my data out of Canmers?

Yes, on every plan including Free. One button on the Orders page downloads every order and every line item as a JSON file you keep, and any individual invoice can be saved as a PDF. Your records are not held hostage: if Canmers stops being useful to you, you leave with everything.

Does Canmers work offline?

No — Canmers runs in your web browser and needs an internet connection, which is also why there is nothing to install and nothing to update. It works on a phone, a tablet or a laptop, so the practical answer for a market day with poor signal is to print or download the invoices you need before you go.

Can Canmers handle HST?

Yes. Turn HST on in My Store → Settings, set your rate, and choose whether it is calculated before or after any discount. Your HST number prints in the invoice header, and the tax is shown as its own line on every invoice. The setting is a default, so you can still change or remove the tax on a single order.

How many people can use the same account?

The Free plan is for one user. Plus includes 3 seats, and you can add more for $5.00 per seat per month up to a maximum of 15. Everyone works in the same records, and you choose whether each person is an Admin or a Member — only Admins can delete records, manage the team, or change billing.
